Update: File Editor, Settings Sync & Pumpkin MC Channels
Edit files in the app, and settings files that stay in sync with your instance settings
Changes
- Edit files in the app. In an instance's files section, click a file to open it in an editor. JSON, TOML, YAML and XML are syntax-checked as you type, with the error shown on the line it points at. Files ServerSync manages itself open view-only (eye icon). Line endings are kept as they were.
- Settings files stay in sync with the instance settings, both ways. Hand-edit a game's settings file (in the new editor or any text editor) and the change shows up in the instance's settings about a second after you save. Change a setting in the app and the file is rewritten straight away. Your other edits to the file survive. Settings files are marked with a gear icon.
- Two-way settings sync covers: Abiotic Factor, Core Keeper, Don't Starve Together, Minecraft Java, Minecraft Bedrock, Necesse, Palworld, PaperMC, Pumpkin MC, Romestead, 7 Days to Die and Vintage Story.
- New file, New folder and Import live under a + menu in files. Typing mods/configs/server.json creates the folders on the way. Import brings files in through the normal Windows file picker.
- Search files by name across the whole instance. Results show in the file table.
- Each file has a ⋯ menu: Edit / View, Open in folder (opens Explorer with that file selected), Copy path, Delete.
- Settings can be changed while an instance is installing. A setting changed during an install or restore is kept and written into the game's file when it finishes.
- Pumpkin MC: pick stable, canary or nightly. The newest stable release is now the default.
- The Port and Config cards have an info tooltip explaining them.
- Uninstall keeps your world and the version pin, so reinstalling brings you back where you were.
- Clearer refusals. Starting, backing up, exporting or cloning while an install, restore or warm-up is running is refused with a message that says why, instead of failing part-way.
Fixes
- Vintage Story: with Go online, the game port is now tunnelled over both TCP and UDP (it was one only).
- Don't Starve Together now shuts down cleanly on Stop instead of being force-killed.
- Pumpkin MC now stops even when its RCON isn't reachable.
- Core Keeper no longer pins its generated seed into a blank config, and the generated seed now shows in settings.
- An update no longer moves an instance off its pinned version (Minecraft, Vintage Story and others).
- Download progress for cloud backups now shows real bytes.
